What if my dog is double-coated?Double coats tend to be thicker and more challenging to groom compared to single coats. During shedding season, more time is spent loosening the undercoat to help prevent mats and promote a healthier coat by removing excess fur.
-
Why we DO NOT shave or clip double coated breeds shortShaving or clipping double-coated breeds short should be avoided since their coat serves as natural insulation and protection. Removing or significantly reducing this coat compromises their ability to regulate their temperature, making them vulnerable to heatstroke and cold-related issues. The coat also acts as a shield against skin irritants and pests, reducing the risk of infections and allergies. Unless the customer specifically requests shaving, we will not shave down double coated breeds.
-
What if my dog is overly matted?Pets may occasionally develop mats if not brushed regularly, which can result in additional grooming requirements. In such instances, there will be a charge of $30 for small dogs and $60+ for large dogs added to the bill. If your pet's mats are particularly challenging, our grooming experts may need to use a specialized blade for shaving. This procedure demands extra care and time to ensure your pet's comfort and safety.
-
What if my dog takes longer than initially estimated? We base our prices on the average time it takes to service your pets, according to their weights. This $100/hr charge is prorated and covers the additional time we may spend on your pets based on their condition.
-
Does my dog need special handling?"Special handling" refers to a specific approach needed when grooming certain puppies that are unfamiliar with the grooming process, aggressive dogs, and older dogs. These cases require extra care, patience, and expertise from the groomer. Such pets may be more challenging to handle and may exhibit fear, aggression, or discomfort during grooming. Consequently, additional precautions and specialized techniques are necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of the pet and the groomer. To accommodate for these circumstances, a fee of $50 for small dogs and $75+ for large dogs will be applied to the bill.
-

Am I allowed to watch? While we appreciate your interest in observing our grooming process, we prioritize the safety of our groomer and your pet. Pets can become excited and restless, increasing the risk of injury with sharp grooming tools. Therefore, we kindly ask you to understand if we advise against your presence in the grooming van or standing outside the window. Your pet's well-being is our top priority.
